I'm Toan Lam — developer, former theater kid, and lifelong builder.
I spent years learning to communicate under pressure, read a room, and ship every single night — on stage. Then I pivoted to software, where I get to build things instead of just perform them.
I'm currently finishing my CS degree at CU Boulder while building full-stack applications with React and Node.js. I'm also learning Python for AI/ML — my first project was a reinforcement learning agent that taught itself to play Atari Breakout.
What I bring from theater: the ability to explain complex ideas clearly, stay calm when things break, and actually enjoy presenting my work. Most engineers hate that part. I don't.
Outside of code, I'm usually climbing (working on V4s), playing basketball, or going down rabbit holes about fragrances. Based in Orange County, California.
I'm looking for opportunities in web development and AI/ML. If you're building something interesting, let's talk.
